Dr. Steven Abbadessa (Or as many call him – Dr. Abby) is an experienced, board certified Proctologist and surgeon. As the founder of Colon Rectal Health Center, and Hemorrhoid Care and Treatment Center, he meets the needs of patients in addressing diseases of the colon and rectum. These diseases and problems include: Hemorrhoid treatments that include infrared coagulation, laser treatments, sclerotherapy, rubber banding and surgery.
Colon and rectal concerns include: Colon and rectal cancer prevention (conducting colonoscopies and other screenings for cancer), rectal and colon surgery for removal of polyps, treating colon cancer, anal cancer, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticular disease, constipation, fecal incontinence and irritable bowel syndrome. He has treated thousands of patients through his twenty-plus years in practice.
Dr. Abbadessa is a pioneer in the treatment of HPV related conditions including genital warts and anal warts.
Dr. Abbadessa maintains his board certification and continuing education. New advances are happening in medicine every day. He strives to give his patients the most advanced care possible in his chosen field of treating colon and rectal diseases.
Over the years I have adjusted my practice to meet the needs of my patients. People can’t afford to take time from work and that is why the majority of procedures are done in the office. Also, with escalating health care costs and high deductibles, we are able to give patients the highest quality and the safest care possible without the high fees associated with a hospital setting.
My staff and I look forward to helping you with your health concerns.
To your health and peace of mind,
Dr. Steven Abbadessa

History: After receiving my doctorate from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine I spent 5 years in the military in primary care and the HIV Unit. I have done extensive work in the area of HIV and have produced nearly a dozen papers in this field. After being discharged from the Air Force, I became certified in Proctology and now have over 25 years as a physician and over 20 in my specialty. I believe in an informed and intelligent combination of traditional and alternative treatments for hemorrhoid relief. My office offers a carefully selected line of fiber supplements that support colon health. I am married and have three wonderful children along with two exuberant Labrador retrievers. You’ll find my approach to be caring and straightforward. When patients come to see me, they are usually concerned because of some type of bleeding or pain that they are experiencing. I try to put them at ease and deal with the problem immediately. I understand how sensitive it is to have to deal with anorectal conditions such as hemorrhoids, or genital warts, let alone having to be examined in these areas. My staff and I take great care to make you feel comfortable. I also enjoy humor. Let’s face it, in the profession of Proctology, you have to have a sense of humor, it comes with the territory. Most patients can be treated in the office quickly with minimum discomfort. Commonly used techniques are infrared coagulation, rubber banding and sclerotherapy. The vast majority of conditions can be treated without surgery. In my office we make every effort to see urgent cases immediately, or within 24 hours.
